SCDF Advice on Recent Fire Cases During Food Preparation

"Recently, there were fire cases involving the use of flammables during food preparation (e.g. flammable gel for food warming, flavoured cooking alcohol, culinary blow torch for tableside food preparation, etc) that resulted in burn injuries to the members of public.
In the interest of public safety, please refrain from using alcohol based flammable substances for food preparation in dining area.  Such activities shall be conducted in the designated kitchen or locations away from the public. We would also like to discourage the use of flammable gel for food heating purposes and to replace it with solid fuels.  The replenishment of fuels should be carried out safely, away from the public and closely supervised by experienced personnel."
